Understanding the Bladder

The urinary bladder is a muscular sac in the pelvis, just above and behind the pubic bone. When empty, the bladder is about the size and shape of a pear.

Urine is made in the kidneys, and travels down two tubes called ureters to the bladder. The bladder stores urine, allowing urination to be infrequent and voluntary. The bladder is lined by layers of muscle tissue that stretch to accommodate urine. The normal capacity of the bladder is 400 to 600 mL.

During urination, the bladder muscles contract, and two sphincters (valves) open to allow urine to flow out. Urine exits the bladder into the urethra, which carries urine out of the body. Because it passes through the penis, the urethra is longer in men (8 inches) than in women (1.5 inches).

The Bladder is used for discharge fluids waste.

The above table show us that the Kidney (Water) and the Bladder (Rain) are link together.

In the 5 elements perspective, the Yin and yang water are link! Rain recycle from Water and Water recycle back to Rain. So when 2 Water is in trouble, you know that these two areas will be affected!

The Bladder likes to be moist.

And when the Bladder is not doing its jobs, the first attention is to look at the kidney problems!

There are many other causes to a bladder problem, and it can be found in our date of birth meaning the date we are born. Some called it hereditary diseases.

The Nature and Environment in our date of birth that causes Bladder problems (Problems with the Rain):

·                  The Environment is too dry

·                  The Environment is too Cold

·                  Rat and Horse Clash

·                  Rat and Ox Combine

·                  Too much Earth

·                  Too much Iron

So the Bladder problems is not so much on the Bladder itself but its surrounding environment. We should try to look at above environment to find out the cause of the Bladder problems!

Problems with the Bladder can include:

·                  Bladder cancer

·                  Bladder exstrophy

·                  Bladder infection

·                  Bladder spasm

·                  Bladder sphincter dyssynergia, a condition in which the sufferer cannot coordinate relaxation of the urethra sphincter with the contraction of the bladder muscles

·                  Bladder stones

·                  Cystitis

·                  Hematuria, or presence of blood in the urine, is a reason to seek medical attention without delay, as it is a symptom of bladder cancer as well as bladder and kidney stones
